- Psalms 1-2: Introduction to book (blessing on the one who delights in God’s law and submits to God’s king)
- Psalms 3-14: Messiah rejected by men
- Psalms 15-24: Messiah accepted by God
- Center: Psalm 19: Delighting in God’s law
- Center: Psalm 20: Delighting in God’s king
- Psalms 15-24: Messiah accepted by God
- Psalms 25-35: Messiah rejected by men
- Psalms 36-41: Concluding poems about David’s suffering
